High School Students
Pre-College Entrepreneurship Initiatives
We encourage young entrepreneurs at the high school level to seek out some of the empowering pre-college programs and initiatives offered at FAU. High schools can easily get involved with ACE programs and uniquely explore how the vibrant entrepreneurial community in South Florida can support their innovative ideas.
At FAU College of Business, we have a mission to make a difference in South Florida with the intention of creating an entrepreneur eco-system and we believe the younger generations of entrepreneurs hold the key to the success of our region. Below are programs for high school students to get involved with ACE.
Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Program
FAU’s College of Business is proud to support the Young Entrepreneurs (YEA!) program offered through the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.
What sets YEA! apart from other entrepreneurial youth programs is that students launch and operate legally-registered and fully-formed enterprises or social movements during the course of the program year. Through YEA!, students work in close cooperation with local leaders of industry, community members, educators and entrepreneurs, who use their personal experiences to walk students through the steps of creating their own business or social movement from the ground up. YEA! students are taught skills through in-class lessons, guest speakers, business mentors and field trips to local businesses and non-profit organizations. The Young Entrepreneurs Academy, or YEA!, launched at the University of Rochester in 2004 with support from the Kauffman Foundation.
Do You Know a Young Entrepreneur?
Youth entrepreneurship training has consistently proven to be extremely effective in improving student performance in the classroom and in their community. YEA! regular sessions for the 2012-2013 school year will be held at Florida Atlantic University Adams Center for Entrepreneurship beginning in September and ending in May 2013.
