Toastmasters at FAU

“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug."

- Mark Twain, author and humorist

Do you fear public speaking? Does the mere prospect of delivering an oral presentation cause you to feel anxious and uncomfortable? You are not alone. Studies for years have shown that public speaking is the #1 fear that human beings have worldwide—even trumping the fear of death. Toastmasters International is an organization that is designed to help individuals improve public speaking skills, leadership abilities, and overall self-confidence. Florida Atlantic University has its own Toastmasters club, referred to as The Toastmasters Club at FAU. The Toastmasters Club at FAU welcomes students, faculty, administration, and anyone else eager to join the club. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming learning environment, in which members are empowered to improve public speaking and leadership abilities, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
