SHRM PHR®/SPHR® Exam Preparation Course

Now more than ever, organizations who hire Human Resource Professionals are requiring human resource management job applicants to be certified. To stay ahead in the field, it is necessary for Human Resource Management Professionals to update their skills, add to their existing knowledge base, and remain on top of current trends within the industry. Florida Atlantic University’s SHRM PHR®/SPHR® Exam Preparation Course will prepare you for managing the ongoing challenges of today’s professional environment by providing preparation for both the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) examinations. In partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Florida Atlantic University’s SHRM PHR®/SPHR® Exam Preparation  program is designed to help eligible HR Professionals prepare for the Human Resource Certification Institute’s (HRCI®) national examination for the Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR®/SPHR®) designation.

 

Instruction follows the SHRM Learning System.

This exam preparation course covers the six subject areas required for the PHR®/SPHR® accreditation:

  • Business Management and Strategy
  • Workforce Planning and Employment
  • Human Resource Development
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Employee and Labor Relations
  • Risk Management

And,

Includes simulated in-class exams with questions and formats which mirror the national accreditation examination.
 

By design, this course proceeds at a very fast pace and is meant to focus on key topics in the six areas of the Body of Knowledge of Human Resources. This course is not designed to teach the materials in-depth; rather it is a review course for those students who are qualified to take the PHR/SPHR exams with an overview of what will be covered on the exam. Self and group study will be required in addition to class attendance, in order to be most successful at mastery of course concepts.


Instructional Method and Format

  • Instructor-led by an SPHR® certified instructor
  • Follows the SHRM Learning System and covers the relevant areas required for the PHR®/SPHR® accreditation
  • Include both traditional and computer-based learning components
  • Course material and structure simulate the form and content of the national exams.

Re-sit Policy

Any student who does not pass the PHR®/SPHR® Certification exam, upon successful completion of this program*, is welcome to attend a future class free of charge**, within 12 months of the original program date. Should a new SHRM Learning System be published, the student may purchase it at the University’s cost. Student is responsible for cost of parking.

* Must have attended at least 8 of the 10 course sessions and completed both the mid-term and final exams
