Marketing Internships

The Department of Marketing offers full-time and part-time, paid and unpaid, internships in Advertising, Retailing, and Sales Management for 2 or 3 credits.  These internships are offered to  advanced undergraduate students who wish to obtain  practical laboratory learning experience in a specific area of Marketing under the direction of professional executives and educators.  Students who work full time and register for 3 credit internships are limited to one additional 3 credit course for registration during the semester.  The college supervisor and the training sponsor in the business firm will develop a training plan for the internship.  An analytical project, using the guidelines provided by the college supervisor, must be submitted prior to the end of the semester.  The final grade is based on both the job performance and the written project.

  • Advertising Internship    (ADV 4940):  open to senior level  (90 credits ) marketing students who have completed ADV 3000 Principles of Advertising and ADV 4304 Media Strategy or MAR 4334 Creative Advertising Strategy.  Instructor approval is required.
  • Retailing Internship        (MAR 4945):  open to senior ( 90 credits ) or graduate level students who are preparing for careers in retailing and have completed the course MAR 4231 Retail Management.  Approval of Instructor is required.
  • Sales Management Internship     (MAR 4946):  open to senior level ( 90 credits ) marketing students who have completed MAR 4403 Sales Management.  Approval of instructor is required.
