US Brazil Exchange Program

Florida Atlantic University students are invited to study as exchange students at one of three universities in Brazil for either one or two semesters. 

&   Universidade do Sul de Santa Caterina (UNISUL) in Florianopolis , Brazil

&   Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Porto Alegre, Brazil

&   Universidade Federal do Minas Gerais (UFMG) in  Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is required.  Courses are taught in the Portuguese language.  Students will be registered at Florida Atlantic University and will pay their normal FAU tuition costs.

To apply for exchange program, fill out Office of International Programs form completely and submit along with a non-refundable $100 fee to the Office of International Programs Office located in the SU building, room 106 .

A limited number of grants are offered under the auspices of US Department of Education (FIPSE) to assist students with travel and establish housing.  Grants are competitive and require the completion of the program, including: a one-month intensive Portuguese course, completion of one or two semesters of coursework, and an internship.  The grant exchange program begins early July 2007 with one-month of intensive Portuguese. 

Students participating must be a declared a Business major or minor.  Transferable business core and elective courses are available.  A minimum grade point average of 2.5 or special permission from director is required.  Students opting to study in Brazil for two semesters will have priority for the grant money.

To apply for grant money, fill out Grant Application form completely and submit to the College of Business Undergraduate Studies Office, Fleming West, room 102.  Grant Application Deadline Extended from March 15, 2007 to March 23rd, 2007.
