Admissions

The certificate program has two tracks: Business and Computer Science. Please read below for admissions requirements depending on which program track you prefer.

Business Track

Requirements for admission to the Business Track of the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Program:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or in a related field
  • GPA of at least 3.0
  • Students must satisfy the prerequisites for each course in the program
  • All four courses must be completed with a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • All course materials are in English; all international students must demonstrate proficiency in English to enter the program.

Computer Science Track

Requirements for admission to the Business Track of the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Program:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or in a related field of science or engineering
  • GPA of at least 3.0
  • Students must satisfy the prerequisites for each course in the program
  • All four courses must be completed with a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • All course materials are in English; all international students must demonstrate proficiency in English to enter the program.

How to Apply

For students who meet the admission requirements listed above, complete the following steps to apply for the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate program.

  • Complete application to the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Program (Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Application)
  • Please send transcripts reflecting the completion of your bachelor's degree along with the completed application form to the College of Business Graduate Advisor, Michelle Williams (williamsmich2012@fau.edu 561-297-1314), for the Big Data Analytics Graduate Cerfiticate in the College of Business. It is best to send the above information to the College of Business Graduate Advisor prior to submitting your non-degree application to FAU.
  • You will be notified whether or not you have been approved for the program. Once you receive approval for the program, the College of Business Graduate Advisor will provide you the program advising sheet so that you may select the classes you plan to complete.
  • Complete a non-degree seeking application to FAU's Office of the Registrar. (Non-degreeing seeking application information).¬† This should be submitted only after you receive acceptance to the program.
