Career Outlook

Leadership and Management is the backbone of business. All organizations require strong leaders to keep things running smoothly.

Education and Training

Leaders and Managers must be familiar with management principles and practices, and know how and when to put them into practice. Most managerial positions require competency in specific field of the job functions and no formal degree, however, obtaining a formal education in management provides more opportunities for career advancement and allows for increased positive outcomes in the workplace.

How much does this job pay?

Median annual wages of wage and salary for managers were $109,760 in May 2020. The middle 50 percent earned between $74,250 and $159,550. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $51,670, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $208,000.

Many of the remainder worked in home healthcare services, Federal Government healthcare facilities, outpatient care centers, insurance carriers, and community care facilities for the elderly.

What about the future?

Employment is projected to grow faster than the average. Job opportunities should be good, especially for applicants with work experience in healthcare and strong business management skills. Employment of managers is expected to grow significantly in the years to come, faster than the average for all occupations.
