Minors & Certificates
The College of Business offers opportunities for students to enhance their major programs with minors, certificates, or specialized courses of study.
Minors are official programs of study; when completed, they are noted on the student’s official transcript. Some business minors are available to "non business-core" majors ( ** ), whereas others are available only to business majors (or other majors, provided they also complete the 33 credits of the business-core courses). Details are listed under each program. A minimum of 75% of all minor courses must be completed at FAU.
Certificates are noted on the student's transcript, but they do not require the completion of a bachelor’s degree to be recorded. In addition, students receive a document to note the completion of the program.
Special Courses - "areas of concentration" - are not part of any formal business degree, certificate, or minor program. Instead, they provide an opportunity for a student to build their own unique emphasis area to supplement a major. In addition, a limited number of non-AACSB accredited business-related courses are available outside of the College of Business such as the Actuarial Science Certificate (College of Science/Math Dept.) and the Commercial Music major/minor (College of Arts & Letters/Music Dept).
Executive Continuing Education offers many business-related Certificate Programs and Seminars not for credit but for PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. .
