Emergency Preparedness: The Important Role Case Managers Play

Living in South Florida has reinforced the need for all to be up-to-date on emergency preparedness for any natural or manmade disaster. In this session we will hear from an expert who works at Florida Atlantic University as Chief Program Officer for The International Center for Emergency Management, in collaboration with The Chaim Sheba Medical Center. The audience will gain an understanding of the comprehensive approaches taking place to keep our community safe and prepared.

Session Objectives

  1. We will highlight the nexus between Universities and Emergency Management (training, certification, interns, career development, community engagement/exchange of expertise, infrastructure to allow for state-of-the-art simulated training, research, support during response and recovery)
  2. Collect feedback from audience to ensure we are also meeting the needs of this area of EM: Case Management, and how we can help support the industry
