The Department of Economics offers a comprehensive Master of Science Degree Program allowing you to choose from three tracks: General Economics, International Economics, or Financial Economics. Our program is designed to appeal to both full-time students and the working professional, with many classes offered in the evening. Further, our program is designed with flexibility in mind: with a full course load, it is possible to earn the Masters Degree in 12 months, or you can spread the coursework over several years to fit your schedule. We also offer a Masters Thesis option which substitutes for 6 credit hours towards the 30 credit requirement.
Florida Atlantic University is a dynamic and growing institution, and the Department of Economics is no exception. With 14 full-time faculty with PhDs from leading institutions, we offer small class sizes and a friendly academic environment to study and learn. It is our goal to prepare you for advancement in your current career or to help you pursue new opportunities. Master of Science (M.S.) in Economics
The Department of Economics offers three tracks that lead to the M.S. degree in Economics:
• General Economics Track is designed to provide tools for in-depth analysis of economics in the general setting of economics.
• Financial Economics Track aims to blend the core of economics with the essence of finance to enable students to take full advantage of the integration of the two disciplines.
• International Economics Track gears the economics program to an international dimension of business in an environment of globalization.

Students must complete a minimum of 30 credits to earn the M.S. degree. The M.S. in Economics has two options: (i) a thesis option requiring 30 credit hours, with a minimum of 24 credit hours of graduate course work and completion of the 6 credit thesis, and (ii) a non-thesis option requiring 30 credit hours of graduate course work.
