Graduate program in economics

Dear Prospective Student,

The Department of Economics offers a comprehensive Master of Science Degree Program allowing you to choose from three tracks: General Economics, International Economics, or Financial Economics. Our program is designed to appeal to both full-time students and the working professional, with many classes offered in the evening. Further, our program is designed with flexibility in mind: with a full course load, it is possible to earn the Masters Degree in 12 months, or you can spread the coursework over several years to fit your schedule. We also offer a Masters Thesis option which substitutes for 6 credit hours towards the 30 credit requirement.

Florida Atlantic University is a dynamic and growing institution, and the Department of Economics is no exception. With 14 full-time faculty with PhDs from leading institutions, we offer small class sizes and a friendly academic environment to study and learn. It is our goal to prepare you for advancement in your current career or to help you pursue new opportunities. Recent graduates have gone on to pursue Ph.D. degrees at leading universities such as the University of Arizona, the University of California-Riverside, the University of Florida, Purdue University, and University of Miami (see the Graduate placement page). For those seeking interesting travel experiences, the College of Business offers various one-week Study Tours from which you can earn 3 credits towards your degree.

I thank you for your interest in the Masters Program in Economics, and look forward to your application. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions or would like additional information on the application process or curriculum.
