Declaring a Business Major
Three undergraduate degrees are available in the College of Business.
Bachelor of Arts (BA): This degree is earned by all students in the General Business major. The program is designed for students who seek an academic degree in business but who do not have an interest in a specialized business major, such as Finance or Management or any other traditional major offered by the College of Business. Students who graduate from this program will be prepared with a broad set of business skills potentially of interest to employers across a wide range of industries.
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): This is the degree earned by most students who complete the business core (majors in Accounting, Economics with Concentration in Business Economics, Finance, Hospitality, International Business, Management Infomation Systems, Management, and Marketing). The business core curriculum provides a solid foundation in various areas of business.
Bachelor of Science (BS): Students in a business core major have the option to instead earn a Bachelor of Science degree by taking six additional hours of approved advanced math courses. The BS degree is also earned by all students completing the General Economics major or the Data Science and Analytics major.
Bachelor of Health Services (BHS): This is the degree earned by Health Administration majors.
Please note: The term Online BBA (OBBA) at FAU is used to describe the 3rd and 4th year of the BBA degree offered in a fully online format. The College of Business offers online majors and does not offer an “OBBA” degree. Your diploma will not include the terms “Online”, “Online BBA”, or “OBBA."
