Real Estate Investment Analysis Certificate

Florida Atlantic University’s Real Estate Investment Analysis Certificate provides real estate professionals, homebuyers and sellers, and the many other real estate stakeholders the knowledge and analytical skills for understanding real estate transactions, valuation and analysis, pricing trends and housing market cycles in order to make more informed data-driven decisions.

Program Benefits

Making informed real estate decisions can be enhanced through a data-driven and financially focused approach. Understanding the different aspects of real estate finance and investment as well as the terms and tools essential for insightful analysis gives a competitive advantage to those working in the real estate environment (agents, brokers, appraisers and lenders) as well as to those participating in property investment (buyers, sellers and investors). Knowing how to perform real estate analysis aids in the acquisition and finance of properties and is highly valuable for maximizing future returns from real estate investments in both residential and income producing properties.

The course engages participants in real-world applied exercises and covers important topics—including, but not limited to, common and statutory law implications for real estate, valuation, contract law and negotiation, mortgage evaluation, mortgage pricing, CAP rates, the appraisal process, and more. As a live virtual course, participants may attend in person or online, and have 24/7 access to course material, discussions, recorded online lectures, and experiential learning activities.

Participants who take the course will:

  • Learn an essential real estate skill set to enhance personal real estate decision making and/or professional career
  • Improve understanding of applied real estate analysis
  • Understand the methodologies and procedures employed in real estate financing and investing
  • Identify local, regional and national real estate market cycles
