Jason Piepmeier
Biography
Mr. Piepmeier attended Florida State University on an Academic Scholarship where he studied both Finance and Spanish. He spent a semester studying International Business and Spanish at the University of Costa Rica, in San Jose, Costa Rica.
After graduation Jason accepted a position with Merrill Lynch working as both a Financial Analyst and Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and the Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment Group (PBIG) where he managed the portfolios of the firm’s largest clients and served on the Merrill Lynch Investment Committee. His primary responsibilities included the portfolio management, research, and allocation decisions to equities, fixed income and alternative investment structures.
Jason currently works at NextEra Energy Inc.’s Florida Power and Light (FPL) subsidiary. His responsibilities have included valuation for new investment opportunities in various energy sectors including Solar, Wind, Fossil, Nuclear and Oil/Gas Infrastructure, as well as creating corporate strategies and corporate communications. He is also currently an Adjunct Professor for Florida Atlantic University (FAU) teaching the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) review courses on Quantitative Methods, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and International Economics for both the Level 1 and 2 CFA curriculums.
Jason previously served on the Board of Directors of the CFA Society Jacksonville. He is actively involved in the CFA Society of South Florida and is currently in charge of the Executive Education Program for the CFA Society and their partnership with FAU.
