Adjunct Faculty for Certificate in Event Management

Kathy Bradley Sheldrake, CMP

Kathy Bradley Sheldrake is a nationally recognized meeting, event, and conference management professional with more than 20 years of successful event management in corporations and the association industry. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Florida State University.

Currently, Kathy serves as director, events, and marketing communications for a rapidly growing B to B software company. Her background includes conference and event management, budget management, sourcing and managing a variety of vendors, conducting site searches, negotiating contracts, overseeing pre-planning, on-site execution, and post-event reviews for meetings, conferences, trade shows, and incentive trips. Kathy has gained extensive experience managing both in-person and virtual events, and she has worked in a variety of industries, including the electronic component manufacturing, automotive, risk management and telecommunications industries.

In 2017, Kathy achieved the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification, and she successfully completed the Hybrid & Virtual Event Director Certificate Course from the Event Leadership Institute in 2021.

In addition to her professional experience, Kathy has been recognized by Meeting Professionals International for her volunteer work leading a CMP certification prep course and she was nominated for the MPI Rising Star Award in 2017. Further, in 2019, Kathy was honored by the Senior Planners Industry Network (SPIN) with their 40 Over Forty Award in 2019 for her volunteer efforts in support of meeting planner education. Kathy has been a member of Meeting Professionals International since 2014, and she served on the Exhibit Advisory Council for the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) from 2011 - 2014, including a one-year term as chair.
