Online Student Spotlight-Habib Hasbun
What is your major?
Bachelor of Health Administration
How are online classes making it possible for you to keep working towards your degree?
Taking courses online allowed me to balance life to my convenience. Taking 5 courses,
2 internships, and a part time job at the same time is not easy, but it is a lot simpler
when you are able to design a flexible schedule.
What did you like the most about online classes?
The selling point for me definitely was the fact that I didn't have to drive to campus
and look for parking. Even though there are way more benefits; as someone who hates
driving, this was an absolute life saver.
What is the most important benefit offered by online classes?
It was really beneficial for me because, as an ambitious person, I always prefer going
at my own pace. So being able to attend a class online while on my lunch break, or
watch a lecture while I do my cardio; it was something that tailored to me.
How do you balance work, family and school?
There is a popular misconception that between work, family, school, and a social life,
you can only choose three. Taking classes online not only allowed me to balance all
four, but also gave me the chance to explore internships and travel. Don't get me
wrong, it's not for everyone, time management is definitely the key; but if you’re
dedicated and responsible enough, it'll be the best decision you'll make in college.
What advice do you have for future Owls considering FAU?
The best advice I can give an incoming student would definitely be to take every opportunity
thrown at you. If there is a club that peaks your interest, join it, and if not, start
one that does. That is how you make yourself known, network, and establish a presence.
At the end of the day, it’s not about the tests you take, but the hands you shake
that make your college memories everlasting.
