Biography

Barbara Flynn is the President of People First and has been in the Human Resource field for over 30 years. She and her team of professional experts provide flexible and comprehensive accounting, payroll and human resource services that help small to medium sized businesses reach their potential. She has been part of FAU’s Executive Education Program, teaching the HRCI Certification Preparation course for over 10 years.

Barbara received her Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Nova Southeastern University in 1983. She received her Senior Professional Human Resource certification in 2002. This is the highest credential obtainable in the human resources profession. She recently was certified by the Society of Human Resource Management with their new certification of SHRM-SCP.

Barbara is the past President of the Human Resource Association of Broward County. She is involved with various networking organizations, is an active member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and has been a resident of Plantation since 1963.

Prior to establishing People First, Barbara was co-owner of a high-fashion jewelry manufacturing company based in New York. She partnered with the designer and established the business from the ground up. She started the company with two employees and when she left, had 84 employees working two shifts, established a Sales office in London and a Manufacturing facility in the Philippines. She brings a lot to the table and has a thorough understanding of what it takes to run a business. This expertise gives her the competitive advantage when offering People First services to her clients. Her motto says it all: “People First… where everything begins and ends with people”.
