
Michael Sparks
Biography
Michael D. Sparks has taught the Certificate in Sales Management program at FAU for
the last seven years. Mr. Sparks has over 25 years of experience selling and delivering
complex technology and software solutions in a wide range of industries and over 15
years of experience leading sales organizations. Michael has held sales and channel
leadership positions with Compaq Computer Corporation, GE Capital, Solarcom, Trimble
Navigation and Motorola Solutions. Michael currently works as a Strategic Channel
Executive for Zebra Technologies.
In 2008, Michael earned his Executive MBA with a concentration in Technology and Innovation
at Florida Atlantic University. Michael studied the commercialization of new technologies,
innovations and intellectual property and developed a business plan to commercialize
a unique and innovative aqua-culture process. This business plan was selected as
a case study for the next cohort of Executive MBA students and became the foundation
of a successful effort to raise capital and launch a company. As a further testament
to his work and leadership, FAU hired Michael as an adjunct professor to develop and
teach their Certificate in Sales Management program.
An accomplished public speaker, Michael is often asked to present on a variety of
sales, channel and business subjects. He also provides business consulting and custom
sales training for FAU and SparkForce One, LLC. Michael holds a B.S. in Psychology
from Tulane University and an MBA in Innovation and Technology from Florida Atlantic
University.
