Bottling an 'Island State of Mind': FAU Business Alumni and Co-founders of Islamorada Beverages

A shared love of sun, sand, fishing and good beer led a trio of FAU College of Business alumni to brew up the idea for Islamorada Beverages. The Islamorada Beer Company, its original name, was born during weekend fishing trips to the Keys in the mid-2000s. Conversations about needing a lighter craft beer to complement their tropical “fun-in-the-sun” lifestyle turned FAU college friends Tyrone Bradley ’08, ’13, Chris Trentine ’05 and Whitney Trentine ’07, along with their friend, Nik Schroth, into business partners.

Little did he imagine a course topic on recurring revenue businesses would ignite his entrepreneurial spirit and lead him to launching a monthly subscription box service before graduating and landing on Inc. 500’s list of top 200 fast-growing companies (2020), right alongside Uber.

FAU MBA Sport Management Climbs in World Rankings

Florida Atlantic University’s MBA Sport Management program improved by 11 spots in a ranking of the world’s Top 40 postgraduate sport management degrees. FAU moved to No. 19 for 2021 from No. 30 last year and was one of only three Florida universities included in the rankings by Sport Business, a London-based global intelligence service.
