The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) 
Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association of more than 170,000 members. Throughout the world, The IIA is recognized as the internal audit profession's leader in certification, education, research, and technical guidance. The Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) designation is the only globally accepted certification for internal auditors and remains the standard by which individuals demonstrate their competency and professionalism in the internal auditing field.
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) PALM BEACH Chapter
The Palm Beach County Chapter of The Institute of Internal Auditors (PBCIIA) was established in 1987 and is the only local IIA Chapter on the East Coast of Florida between Orlando and Miami, serving a community of approximately 245 members that includes audit professionals from public and private companies representing sectors such as government, financial services, insurance, consulting, hospitality, transportation and energy. Members of the the PBCIIA Chapter represent a variety of large organizations including Palm Beach County, Office Depot, Tropical Shipping, NCCI Holdings, Inc., FP&L, Seacoast Bank, and the Breakers Palm Beach. The Chapter also offers numerous educational, networking and social events and works in close partnership with the Miami IIA Chapter, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and other professional organizations. As a service to its members, the PBCIIA Chapter works with Florida Atlantic University to offer the CIA Review Program twice per year; in addition, the chapter also offers educational opportunities for acquiring CPE (continuing professional education) credits, which assist credential holders to maintain their professional designation, and offers academic scholarships that can be applied to the review program or to a student’s course of study in Accounting/Audit.
