The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Professional Certificate Program at Florida Atlantic University is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board). As a CFP Board-Registered Program, our courses satisfy the CFP Board’s education requirement, allowing an individual to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.

CURRICULUM DESCRIPTION
An overview of the financial planning process, including ethics and standards, budgeting and financial statements, debt management, asset acquisitions, client assessment, education and special circumstance funding, fundamentals of financial institutions and economic concepts, the time value of money, organizational ownership types, property titling, basic business law, quantitative concepts, and monetary settlements.

Florida Atlantic University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP certification marks. CFP certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®; CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and federally registered CFP, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.

CFP®
Ehab Abdalla has taught CFP courses as part of the PMD program at Merrill Lynch. He has also taught courses as an adjunct for Johnson & Wales University.
CARL CHRISTIE
CFP®, CFS
Carl Christie has been a practicing financial planner for over 27 years and has held the CFP designation since 2001. Carl has also been the National Board Director of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) since January 2013.
