FAP – Admission & Application Requirements
Admission for new students into the Financial Analyst Program is currently on hold. The program is undergoing exciting updates to its curriculum with the intended objective of further enhancing the program outcome and experience. In the interim, many components of the Financial Analyst Program are being incorporated into the structure of the Master of Science in Finance program. Please contact MSFinance@fau.edu to speak with an Admissions Representative for more details regarding the various finance program options offered at FAU.
FAU Financial Analyst Program - Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements and Eligibility
- Student must have a 3.3 GPA or higher in their major
- Undergraduate students should be in their Junior or Senior year.
- Graduate students must be in good standing in an MBA or Master’s program
- Non-Degree students should have a bachelor’s degree and have completed the undergraduate prerequisites courses listed below.
Recommended Prerequisite Courses
- It is recommended that applicants should have completed the majority of the following: Accounting I & II, Corporate Finance, Money and Banking, Economics (macro/micro), Advanced Finance.
Written Personal Statement
The following three essay questions must be answered and submitted with the The Financial Analyst Program application:
- What is your view of the current stock market environment?
- Why do you want to be a financial analyst?
- What skills do you possess that would make you a good analyst?
Those candidates who are selected will be interviewed; interviews will be conducted by the investment committee. Only those applicants selected will be contacted for an interview.

- What skills do you possess that would make you a good analyst?
- Unofficial Transcript
Note: You do NOT need to upload your transcript if you are a current FAU student or FAU graduate.
FAU Financial Analyst Program - Interviews
Once applications are reviewed, qualified candidates will be contacted by the admissions department to schedule an interview for the Financial Analyst Program. Interviews will be conducted by the Program Director, Dr. Rainford Knight.
