Agile versus Predictive Project Management

Agile versus Predictive Project Management

Agile versus Predictive Project Management

In today's diverse business landscape, no single project management methodology can guarantee success across all industries and organizational contexts. Effective project management requires a tailored approach that aligns with each project's unique characteristics, constraints, and objectives. To be an effective project manager in today’s economy, project managers must develop fluency in multiple methodologies—particularly both Agile and Predictive (Waterfall) approaches—understanding when and how to apply each framework's tools, techniques, and best practices.

COURSE BENEFITS

Florida Atlantic University's Agile Project Management versus Predictive Project Management introduces participants to the most popular Agile frameworks and how they align with traditional project management. They will learn the pros and cons of Agile techniques from a team member’s perspective, which will help them create the right environment for self-organizing, self-managing teams to flourish.

The course also provides an overview of a Predictive framework, exploring the differences between a more traditional style of project management with one that encourages trial and error.

Using presentations, discussions, and exercises, this course will walk through the entire life cycle both of an Agile-managed project as well as a Predictive-management project.
