Overview of Admissions Requirements
Requirements for Admission to the Business Track of the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Program:
- Bachelors degree in Business or in a related field from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university
- All four courses must be completed with a GPA of 3.0 or better
- All course materials are in English; all international students must demonstrate proficiency in English to enter the program.
Note: If you are interested in the Computer Science track, you must reach out to the College of Engineering & Computer Science for more info & to apply
Additional Requirements for International Students
- International students should first contact the International Student Services Office before applying to this program to determine if you will be eligible for this program
since this certificate program is for non-degree seeking students
- Applicants who completed all or part of their education outside of the United States are required to have a course by course evaluation of your international transcripts by a NACES member
- TOEFL scores are required of applicants who attended a non-English speaking institution for their baccalaureate degree and whose native language is not English. A minimum TOEFL score of at least 600 (paper-based exam), 250 (computer-based), or 100 (internet-based) is required.

Cost of the Program
- This program follows the university’s regular current fee per credit hour for graduate courses.
- Since this program is 12 credits in length, the approximate cost for the program would be (12) times the current fee per credit hour for graduate courses.

Application Deadlines
- Applications must be complete and all documents submitted before the deadlines below to be considered for admission. Once all admission documents have been received, your application will be reviewed

Graduate Course Credit Transfer
- Graduate Courses taken at an institution outside of FAU will NOT be counted as course credit towards the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate program as courses for the certificate must be completed 100% in residence at FAU.
How to Apply?
For students who meet the admission requirements listed above, complete the following steps to apply for the Business Track of the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Program.
- Step 1: Complete the standard FAU non-degree seeking application and submit the completed application to FAU's Office of the Registrar before the
application deadlines listed in the section above. Once your non-degree application
is approved by FAU (you will generally be notified via email), be sure to check to
see if you have any registration holds and contact the appropriate office(s) listed to have your Hold(s) removed.
- Please note if you are a current FAU student and are already in a business graduate degree program (e.g. MBA, MSITM, etc.), you do NOT need to fill out a non-degree seeking application.
- Step 2: Complete the program application Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Application
- Please note if you are a current FAU student and are already in a business graduate degree program (e.g. MBA, MSITM, etc.), you do NOT need to fill out the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Application. Simply register for the courses for the certificate and email your academic advisor if you have any registration issues
- Step 3: Submit your completed Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Application before
the application deadlines listed in the section above to the online application link

- Please note if you are a current FAU student and are already in a business graduate degree program (e.g. MBA, MSITM, etc.), you do NOT need to fill out the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate Application. Simply register for the courses for the certificate and email your academic advisor if you have any registration issues
- Step 4: Please send your official transcripts reflecting the completion of your bachelor's
degree (and master’s degree, if applicable) to the College of Business Graduate Advising
Office, COBgradadvising@fau.edu, for the Big Data Analytics Graduate Certificate in the College of Business.
- Once all your transcripts are received and your non-degree application and program application are reviewed, you will be notified with an admissions decision.
- Please note if you are a current FAU student and are already in a business graduate degree program (e.g. MBA, MSITM, etc.), you do NOT need to submit any additional transcripts. Simply register for the courses for the certificate and email your academic advisor if you have any registration issues
Once Admitted Into The Program
- Once you are admitted into the program, you should review the current course schedule to see what classes are offered and register for classes via MyFAU registration.
- If you are not currently in another degree program and are , you are only able to register after a specific date each semester. This date is generally one to two weeks before the first day of the semester. Please review the University’s Academic Calendar for more information on this date.
Once All Certificate Courses Are Completed
- Once all four courses for the certificate are completed, to receive your actual certificate,
you need to:
- Fill out the Application to Receive Certificate
- Note: Once on the page, navigate to the "students" section and click on "Application for Certificate" link. Fill out the digital form and then once you complete the form, click on "Print pdf" on the bottom of the page and your completed form will be downloaded as a PDF
- Once the application is completed & downloaded as a PDF, submit the completed PDF application for certificate to the College of Business Graduate Advising Office COBgradadvising@fau.edu
- Fill out the Application to Receive Certificate
