Food Marketing Study Abroad: Farm to Fork in Barcelona
For the third year in a row, I had the pleasure of leading 19 incredible Florida Atlantic University busines students on a Food Marketing Study Abroad. This time, we swapped the green hills of Ireland for the vibrant energy of Barcelona, Spain. The students explored global food systems, sustainable practices, cultural immersion, and hands-on marketing insights — all under the warm Spanish sun.
South Africa Study Tour Expands Global Business Perspectives
For many MBA students, global business can feel like a distant concept until they gain real-world experience. FAU’s Executive Education programs offer students international study opportunities for this very reason. This summer, students immersed themselves in the culture of South Africa: visiting Robben Island, hearing firsthand from a winemaker who overcame poverty and now exports wine to the U.S., and speaking face-to-face with energy executives confronting Africa’s toughest infrastructure challenges and the transition to renewable energy.

Phil Smith Owls flew north to attend CAPITAF student colloquium in West Fairlee, Vermont. Located at Nobel laureate Milton Friedman’s former summer estate, CAPITAF aims to assemble curious minds to discuss public choice and policy in a Socratic-style format.
‘Eye’ on Health: AI Detects Dizziness and Balance Disorders Remotely
Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly vital role in modern medicine, particularly in interpreting medical images to help clinicians assess disease severity, guide treatment decisions and monitor disease progression. Despite these advancements, most current AI models are based on static datasets, limiting their adaptability and real-time diagnostic potential.
