FAU Admissions reviews applications for NextEra Energy Employees on an individual basis and looks at all aspects of an applicant's professional and academic background.
Undergraduate Programs
Freshmen or First-year Student
- High School Diploma
- A standard high school diploma from a Florida public or regionally accredited high school, or its equivalent, is needed to be considered for admission to a state university
- Official Test Scores- ACT or SAT
- Students with a GED must achieve a minimum total score of 3000, with no sub score lower than 550, and present a test score of at least 1450 on the SAT or 21 on the ACT
Transfer Student - Less than 30 Credit Hours
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all attempted college work
- Applicants must be in good academic standing at their last attended institution
- All freshman admissions requirements as stated in freshman admissions section must be met
Transfer Student - More than 60 Credit Hours
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all attempted college work
- Applicants must be in good academic standing at their last attended institution
- Have completed eight to ten credit hours of sequential foreign language or its equivalent
in quarter hours prior to enrollment at Florida Atlantic University
- If the foreign language admission requirement is not met at the time of transfer, then it becomes a graduation requirement
Graduate Programs
First-time Graduate Student
- Current Résumé
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; no business prerequisites are required
- Official transcript or transcript evaluation reflecting bachelor’s degree
- GPA approximately 3.0 or higher over the last 60 undergraduate credits
- Four years of professional work experience is preferred
The GMAT/GRE exam score may be required for candidates that do not meet the admissions criteria listed above. Additionally, a waiver may be granted for candidates students that have completed an advanced degree (Master’s, Doctoral, Professional).
Students Transferring From Another Institution
- All requirements listed under “First-time Graduate Student”
- Master's programs may accept a minimum of 6 graduate credits earned from another institution beyond a baccalaureate degree.
- Acceptance of transfer credits for a course is dependent upon the following provisions: The student received a "B" or better in the course to be transferred
- The course was taken at a regionally accredited institution
- The course is relevant to the graduate program in which the student is accepted, as judged by the graduate or supervisory committee of the department or program
- The course is listed on the official transcript received by the Graduate College
