Field Experience FAQ

What is the cost of a field experience?

The program fee varies depending on destinations. For example, in 2007, the cost for the Costa Rica field experience was $1600 and Brazil was $1900.

What does the price include?

Normally prices include airfare, hotel, transportation, tours, and some meals.

What is NOT included?

Tuition, most meals, and of course, spending money are not included.

How much free time is available?

Free time is minimal. Although some time is factored in for exploring, shopping, etc.; most of the time is spent as a group.

Can I earn credit hours?

Yes! You can earn one to three credit hours.

What requirement in my business program does the field experience fulfill?

For most business majors, a field experience may fulfill an international component, a business elective, or a free elective. For international business majors, the field experience may fulfill an international cognate requirement. See your advisor to identify where in your program a field experience would fit.

Can I participate in more than one field experience?

Only one College of Business Field Experience can apply to student’s program. A second field experience can only be used as free elective credit.

Can I participate in a College of Business field experience if I am not a business major?

Yes! However, keep in mind that pre-requisites are a consideration and a professor’s permission may be necessary.
