Business Communications in Executive Programs
The Business Communications Program supports College of Business Executive Programs by helping them achieve one of their goals: students will communicate effectively in their disciplines. It does not confer a communications degree but prepares students to (1) submit quality speaking and writing assignments in subsequent graduate courses and (2) move up in their careers by increasing their abilities to think critically, problem solve, and gain acceptance for their ideas through well-considered oral and written presentations.
The goal in all communication courses is relevance and practical application. For the MBA courses, the assignments allow students to generate content from managerial issues in their various fields. For Executive Programs that target specific disciplines, the Business Communications Program offers courses with content and assignments based on the language and practices of those disciplines; additionally, practitioners from the discipline offer their expertise and insights in preparing and presenting the coursework.
