Florida Atlantic University will celebrate the dedication of Phil Smith Hall and the Center for Free Enterprise at FAU’s College of Business with a special unveiling ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 4 p.m., at the Sean Stein Pavilion in the College of Business.

Friends and colleagues gathered at Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale recently to honor Phil Smith, a leading Broward County businessman who recently gave his alma mater, Florida Atlantic University, a generous gift to further its College of Business.

FAU Receives Gifts from George T. Elmore Impact for Good Initiative
Florida Atlantic University received two grants from the George T. Elmore Impact for Good Initiative fund established by George Elmore through the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, which funds programs promoting community impact. The two awards include supporting brain science research on aging at the Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute and fostering entrepreneurship programs at The Runway at Florida Atlantic at the College of Business.

Florida Atlantic University’s Siri A. Terjesen, Ph.D., associate dean for research and external relations, has been appointed to the federal National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) for higher education.
