Hospitality & Tourism Management establishes guest service management and customer satisfaction at the center of all business decisions to increase overall customer retention and brand loyalty. FAU’s BBA in Hospitality & Tourism Management students are prepared for management positions in the service industry through the development of technical skills in human resources, financial analytics, revenue management, strategic planning, international business, as well as through practical experience working in-industry prior to graduation.

As a Hospitality & Tourism major, students learn how to:

In 2018, the travel and tourism industry accounted for 10.4% of global GDP and 10% of total global employment, generating more than $1.87 trillion in economic output and 9.2 million jobs in the United States alone. The rapid expansion contributed to major job vacancies for both skilled and unskilled work and a favorable job market for college graduates in the U.S. The medium annual wage was $53,785 in February 2020, with the top 10% of hospitality managers earning salaries in excess of $118,500.

To declare the Online major in Hospitality & Tourism Management, students must have satisfied both the foreign language admission requirement (FLENT) and Civic Literacy, and achieved a minimum 2.5 GPA in the Pre-Business Foundation courses.

A minimum of 120 credit hours are required for the degree. Applications are accepted in any term.
