Overview of Program Information
Minor Program in Operations Management
The OM minor will provide all Business majors a valuable set of knowledge and skills in process analysis and constraint management, inventory and quality control, service operations, project management, procurement, and supply chain management. Such capabilities are increasingly being sought by employers as they continue to improve their operations in the current cost-constrained, yet increasingly competitive, economic environment. An OM Minor will meet the wider needs of businesses in the region by providing a trained workforce in all areas of business operations (service, projects, supply chain, analytics, etc.).
The Operations Management Minor is offered to degree-seeking students in the College of Business and FAU. For the minor, 6 of the 9 credits must be earned from FAU.
The Operations Management minor is designed for all undergraduate Business majors. In addition to completion of the Business/Health Administration core courses, minor requirements include one of the two options below:
- Three courses from the Operations Management Options, OR
- Two courses from the Operations Management Options and one course from Operations Cognate Options.
All required courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. Courses used for the minor may not count toward other Business major or College core requirements. At least two of the three courses (6 credits) for the minor must be taken in residence at FAU. The acknowledgment of the minor is official upon successful completion of a College of Business degree program.
