Traditional MBA - Marketing

The principal objective of the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Program is to advance the quality of business management. The MBA program provides advanced management education in an environment that encourages students to extend their leadership capabilities. A Master of Business Administration degree enables students to gain broad managerial skills and to develop specialized expertise in a business discipline that best suits their career aspirations.

Student s that pursues a MBA with a specialization in Marketing will focus all program electives (12 credits) toward their area of concentration. Students will have the opportunity to select from graduate level courses in the Department of Marketing to fulfill specialization requirements. Students must obtain a “B” grade or better in all elective courses to achieve Marketing Specialization.

Marketing affects everyone in the global economy. We are all consumers of many things. Business firms exist to supply products and services that some group of customers value. Which firms will perish and which will survive? Which firms will mature and which will thrive? In the competitive world of business, the answers depend largely on how well firms perform marketing activities. Courses in the Marketing Department are designed to teach students how to perform marketing effectively.

The Department of Marketing offers programs to prepare students for positions and professional careers in the fields of marketing and advertising. Marketing provides students with an enduring base of knowledge and the ability to adopt new marketing practices as they evolve. MBA students specializing in marketing learn advanced concepts and techniques. For example, recognizing the transferability of skill sets, and applying advanced decision-making techniques in marketing. This knowledge allows a student to play a critical role in the success of their organization.
