AMA Semi Finalists

FAU's AMA student team was recently recognized as semifinalists, placing in the top 18 of universities nationally and first in Florida.

Each year, marketing students from universities across the country participate in AMA's national case competition, designed to challenge them to develop innovative solutions to real-world business scenarios.

For the 2022 case, sponsored by The Wall Street Journal, students needed to develop marketing strategies for generating brand awareness among Gen Z and reaching the college-aged market.

"We are incredibly proud of this year's AMA student team for their exceptional performance" said Eileen Acello, faculty advisor for the team and marketing instructor. "They showcased their skills by analyzing complex marketing dilemmas and developing creative strategies; their success is a testament to their commitment to excellence."

Earning recognition at such a high level demonstrates FAU students' readiness to take on marketing challenges happening in today's businesses. The team's success also highlights the college's dedication to providing students with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to succeed in the quickly evolving marketing landscape.

“Congratulations to our FAU Marketing students for placing in the top 18 (of 75) in the AMA Collegiate Case Competition sponsored by the Wall Street Journal! FAU made the semi-finals, along with teams from excellent schools such as Indiana University, University of Cincinnati, and the University of Nevada – Las Vegas.  FAU finished ahead of all other Florida schools.

Professor Eileen Acello and the students have worked very hard for this recognition, with additional academic support from Cheryl Jarvis and Denise Gravatt and financial backing from Dean Gropper and the COB administration.”
