Eight Florida Atlantic students brought home multiple honors from the American Marketing Association (AMA) 2025 International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. The event brought together more than 1,600 marketing students from over 350 college chapters across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada.
FAU was named a Top 15 Semi-Finalist in the Adobe Express Case Competition, placing among 76 participating schools. The FAU student team conducted primary and secondary research to develop and propose an innovative marketing strategy to solve a real-world challenge.
FAU AMA students also received an Honorable Mention for their Social Impact video, which highlighted Hometown Heroes and Major League Soccer. The chapter earned Outstanding Recognition in three key categories for their Annual Report: Membership Growth (up to 90 members), Fundraising Excellence (featuring their AMA Sponsorship Program), and Chapter Communications.
The conference, themed EVOLVE, not only featured high-level competitions, it also offered a career fair and hands-on workshops along with presentations on cutting-edge topics like branding, AI in marketing, and career development. Students were also inspired by keynote speakers like Martin Nance, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the Minnesota Vikings.
Representing FAU’s College of Business, students also tested their skills in competitions like the JBL Design Lab, Perfect Pitch Sales Challenge, and T-shirt Design, while benefiting from workshops that explored evolving trends in digital marketing, branding, and innovation.
The FAU team was led by AMA faculty advisor Eileen Acello and AMA Collegiate Chapter Council (CCC) member along with co-advisor Dr. Denise Gravatt and AMA ICC Digital Marketing competition judge, who continue to mentor and elevate FAU AMA's chapter to new heights.
Congratulations to Professor Eileen Acello, recently named President Elect Designate for AMA’s CCC. This recognition follows her three years of service as a council member, her co-creation of the Design Lab competition, now in its second year, and her six impactful years as the AMA advisor at Florida Atlantic University. Her leadership and mentorship foster student engagement and strengthens Florida Atlantic’s national presence in marketing education.
With next year’s conference already set for Chicago, the momentum continues as FAU AMA keeps evolving.
