Did you know over 173,000 residents in Palm Beach County are projected to be food insecure? The College of Business is joining forces with the Palm Beach County Food Bank for our volunteer event: ā€œPack to Give Backā€ Day! Stay involved and join us in supporting our community!

Event Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026

Volunteer Shift Options: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: Sean Stein Pavilion, College of Business, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL

Who Can Volunteer: Florida Atlantic Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni (friends, family and neighbors, too!).

*must be 14 years or older to volunteer; under 18 must have a parent or guardian.

How You’ll Help: Volunteers work in assembly-line teams to weigh, sort, and package pasta for families in need.

 

No prior experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to make a difference!

šŸŽ Update: 10th Annual Christmas Feast Toy Drive

We are proud to announce the wrap-up of our partnership with Boca Helping Hands and Town Center Mall for their 10th Annual Toy Drive.

In only our second year of participation, the College of Business faculty and staff showed incredible growth in generosity:

  • Total Collected: 233 toys

  • Growth: +63 gifts over last year

  • Next Steps: All donors have been entered into our appreciation raffle!

Thank you to everyone who contributed. Your kindness truly made a difference for local families this holiday season!

Congratulations to Our Faculty on Prestigious Editorial Appointments

We are thrilled to celebrate two exceptional achievements within the School of Accounting. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Robert Pinsker, Professor, and Dr. Xiaohua (David) Fang, Associate Professor, on their recent appointments to the editorial board of The British Accounting Review.
 

The British Accounting Review is a highly prestigious publication, recognized as an AJG 3 and ABDC A journal. These appointments are a testament to the high caliber of research and expertise within our School. Having two faculty members serve in leadership roles for such a prominent international journal is a remarkable honor that elevates the global reputation of our College.

Congratulations to both Robert and David on this well-deserved recognition of their scholarship and professional standing!

Peer-Reviewed Research


Elizabeth Goodrick, Professor, Department of Management Programs/Health Administration, with co-authors has had their paper ā€œFull of It: Strategic Lying, Epistemic Conflict, and Issue Field Polarization,ā€ accepted for publication in Organization Science (AJG 4*).

Georgi Smatrakalev, Instructor in the School of Accounting, has had his paper, ā€œInternational Taxation or International Tax Planning,ā€ published in the International Journal of Education and Social Science, Vol. 12 No. 2 (August 2025): 2415-1246.

Alan Whiteman, Instructor, Management Programs, Health Administration, Alyssa Sanchez (MHA student), Jean Pierre (MHA student), with co-authors, has had their article, "The Future Implications of AI and Experiential Learning Opportunities in Public Health and Health Administration," accepted for publication in the Healthcare Leadership & Management Journal.
