LCVS Classes
Lecture Capture Video Streaming (LCVS) classes give any FAU student the flexibility to participate in the LCVS classes "live" while they are being recorded, or treat these classes as if they are online courses. In fact, you don't ever have to attend an in-person LCVS class, take an in-person LCVS test, or make an in-person class presentation in an LCVS class. Many of the FAU College of Business pre-business and business core courses are offered in the LCVS format.
LCVS classes are designed to maximize flexibility in your schedule for two main reasons. First, the seat capacities are always available. This means you can register for LCVS courses without worrying about registration being closed because the classes have filled up. Second, with LCVS we open new sections every semester to allow you to take the LCVS course in Fall, Spring or Summer - whenever is most convenient. This empowers you to meet your degree requirements within your academic plan and graduate on time.
Recorded live in high definition, LCVS classes provide you with the ability to complete your coursework at a more customized pace and proceed through course material at your own speed.
You have the option to attend the live class recording on campus; watch the class online at the same time as the live class through video streaming; or watch the recorded classes later through lecture capture. These recorded classes are posted in Canvas and available any time for the remainder of the semester. You can proceed through course material at your own speed by rewinding and replaying portions of lectures you may want to spend more time on to master.
One important note to keep in mind: because LCVS courses offer you the flexibility to attend a live lecture with your professor, the class will show up on your schedule with an assigned class day/time. If you choose to participate in an LCVS class as an online student, and you wish to register for another class that meets at the same time as the LCVS class, please bring this to your advisor's attention so she/he can waive the conflict.
