Instructors as Coaches

GEB 3213 instructors go beyond a classroom presence; they also offer coaching sessions in which they interact one-on-one with students. Such a focus on each student’s work helps the student better understand the issues and figure out ways, with the instructor’s help, to improve.

Instructors are available to help students with their presentations and writing assignments in their other courses and to answer questions for students when writing papers in their other courses.

Students can bring résumés, cover letters, or other work-related issues to review or discuss with their instructor(s).

"Developing excellent COMMUNICATION skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn't even matter."

- Gilbert Amelio, American Technology Executive
