The 3 year 80 credit Executive PhD program starts fall (August) every year.

Year 1-2: First two years students complete required course work in accordance with residency requirements (one in-person residency weekend during
the fall, spring, and summer sessions - three residency weekends minimum per academic
year).

Year 3: The third year students work on their dissertation without scheduled course
work on campus.

Schedule Program Milestones:
- Completion of coursework: End of summer semester of the second year
- Application for candidacy: Beginning of fall of third year
- Proposal defense: End of fall semester of the third year
- Dissertation defense: End of summer of third year
Program Information
Courses are every third Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:15 p.m., with breaks between semesters. Each class of executives begins and progresses through the program together, sharing the same educational experience for the program.

COVID -19 Message
The On-campus Executive Ph.D. program is delivered through live synchronous sessions during scheduled class days and times on Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally, asynchronous class lectures and mini-lectures are recorded and accessible on demand to enhance class study in our digital learning management system, Canvas.
When Florida Atlantic University is permitted to reopen our campuses for physical attendance—as determined by the State University System—Executive Education will resume on-campus classroom attendance according to established regulations. Physical attendance in the classroom will be optional until effective regulations allow for a full return to on-campus immersion.
