Three members of Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business Beta Alpha Psi earned third place last month at the largest mid-year BAP meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Esther Pinto, Jolie Lehrman, and Aaron Thon competed in the Deloitte Best Practices Competition and won third place among 11 universities in the “Innovation and Progress” category.
Their presentation featured the chapter’s “Tech Your Resume” workshop, which focuses on integrating emerging technology to help students better understand applicant tracking systems and optimize their resumes.
Their workshop was assisted through a collaboration with the FAU Career Center.
As a result, FAU BAP will advance to compete at the international level during the annual meeting in Maryland over the summer.
"I am extremely proud of the professionalism and dedication our students displayed at the Mid-Year meeting," said Angela Gaze, senior instructor in the School of Accouting. "They represented Florida Atlantic University and the College of Business exceptionally well."
Gaze and seven total BAP officers attended the Mid-Year conference in Orlando, which drew more than 500 student participants. The BAP Mid-Year meetings are annual, regional professional events for accounting, finance, and information systems students for networking, professional development, career-focused workshops, and Best Practices Competitions.
Officers Maya Mathias, Ashlyn Terhune, Natalie Hernandez, and Kevin Montes Buendia also presented “Chapter Sustainability and Knowledge Transfer” during the Chapter Operations session, highlighting strategies the student organization uses to ensure long-term success and effective leadership transitions.
