My name is Andrew Garrison, Director of the Phil Smith Center for Free Enterprise. I would like to cordially invite you all to our October 17 event during which we will host special guest speaker Daniel Di Martino. Daniel is a Ph.D candidate in economics at Columbia University and a graduate fellow at the Manhattan Institute, where he focuses on high-skill immigration policy.

Daniel will be giving a speech entitled “How Socialism Destroys the Economy” in Room 120 of the College of Business from 2:00pm-3:20pm followed by a small group discussion in the Office Depot Center, Room 101 from 4pm-5pm.

Anna Agapova, Associate Professor, Finance Department, presented a paper titled "Positive versus negative ESG portfolio screening and investors' preferences" at the 2023 International Conference in Finance, Banking and Accounting, Montpellier, France, September 8-9, 2023. The paper is coauthored with FAU Ph.D. candidate Uliana Filatova and FAU high school/undergraduate student Ivan Yuk.

Judy Monestime, Research Associate and Instructor, Department of Management, Health Administration Programs, was invited to present her work on “Optimal Ensemble Strategies to Model Meaningful Use for Medicaid Providers” at The University of Georgia’s Workshop on Applications of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in Health Disparities Research and Workforce Diversity in September 2023.

Magno De Souza Queiroz has been recently appointed as member of the Editorial Boards of two top IS journals: Journal of Strategic Information Systems (AJG 4 journal), and Associate Editor at Information & Management (AJG 3 journal).

Anna Agapova, Associate Professor, and Uliana Filatova, Ph.D. candidate, Finance department, have had their article, "Analysts’ Institutional Client Catering and Reputation Tradeoff: Strategic Timing of Recommendations," accepted for publication in the Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance. Scott Feyereisen, Associate Professor, Management Programs, Health Administation, Neeraj Puro, Assistant Professor, Management Programs, Health Administation, with co-authors, have had their paper titled, “Differential Impact of Hospital and Community Factors on Scope of Hospital and Community Factors on Breadth and Depth of Hospital Population Health Partnerships,” accepted for publication in Health Services Research. Neeraj Puro, Assistant Professor, Management Programs, Health Administation, with co-authors, have had their paper titled, "Publicness, Organizational Strategies, and Public Value Outcomes: An Empirical Analysis of U.S Acute Care Hospitals," published in the Public Management Review. (ABS 4)

Neeraj Puro, Assistant Professor, Management Programs, Health Administation, with co-authors, have had their paper titled, "Variance of US Hospital Characteristics by Safety-Net Definition," published in the JAMA Network Open. (Impact factor:13.8)

Len Trevino, Professor, Management Programs, with co-authors, have had their paper titled, entitled "Sustainable Regional Real Options Value Chains: An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure," accepted for publication in Management Research: The Journal of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management.

Charles Yang, Professor, Finance, with co-authors, has had their article, “Risk Taking, Performance, and Resilience to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence from Public Property-Casualty Insurers," accepted for publication in International Review of Financial Analysis. (ABS3, ABDC A)
