Florida Atlantic University was ranked among the top ten colleges globally for research productivity in entrepreneurship, according to a new ranking from Texas Christian University.
The college rose two spots in the rankings calculated by the Texas Christian University Global University Research Productivity report, ranking No.8, up from No. 10 last year.
"We are proud to be recognized for the top-tier entrepreneurship research that our faculty produces. Our faculty is at the forefront of research exploring the various factors that help businesses and owners succeed,” said Daniel Gropper, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business and Kaye Family professor.
The TCU Global University Entrepreneurship Research Productivity Rankings is based on entrepreneurship research published in a five-year period form 2020-2024. The ranking counts publications made from universities in three of the top entrepreneurship journals: Journal of Business Venturing (JBV), Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice (ETP), and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal (SEJ).
While only one indicator of a college's program, research productivity is a key component of whether an entrepreneurial program is following an evidence-based approach and exemplifies thought leadership.
FAU’s College of Business faculty have made various contributions to the research in entrepreneurship, winning numerous awards for their academic papers and teaching. Most recently, Kevin Cox, Ph.D., director of the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship, was the 2025 State of Florida Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year Award for his excellence in teaching entrepreneurship and student learning.
Other faculty members, including Mark Packard, Ph.D., associate professor, and director of research for the Madden Center for Value Creation; Donald Neubaum, Ph.D., DeSantis Distinguished Professor in Management and Entrepreneurship and the associate dean of faculty; and Siri Terjesen, Ph.D., professor and associate dean for research and external relations were also recognized for outstanding research papers in the field.
FAU’s College of Business is dedicated to pursuing excellence in education for the South Florida community and is among the top 20 largest AACSB-accredited business schools in the country, with more than 9,000 students enrolled. Its fundamental mission is to help create opportunities for students and the community through first-rate educational programs. The college offers multiple programs ranked among the best by U.S. News & World Report, Fortune, The Princeton Review, and Entrepreneur magazine. The college’s non-degree executive education programs are ranked No. 4 in the U.S. and No. 1 in Florida by the Financial Times.
