Marketing brings real world experience to the classroom! Ms. Jody Kaminski, Senior Vice-President of Marketing at Ultimate Software, spoke to Dr. Pradeep Korgaonkar's class about the use of marketing research and social media at Ultimate Software. She also discussed professional positions and paid internships at the company. Ultimate Software, Inc. employs 1,200 people at its headquarters in Weston and 2,200 worldwide.
In Marketing, we engage our former marketing students with current students! Daniel Fernandez (2009), Director of Strategy + Development for Cendyne/ONE, David Viteri (2008), principal of Viteri Global Marketing, and Matt Crowley, Senior Manager of Optimized Services for More Visibility, recently spoke to our marketing students about opportunities in the fields of Digital Marketing and Search Engine Optimization.
As part of their class service project students in Dr. Pradeep Korgaonkar's Marketing Management class donated $1,600 worth of items, including 315 new tubes of toothpaste, to The Broward Partnership, which operates the Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center.
Marketing students make a difference! The students in Dr. Pradeep Korgaonkar’s marketing management class in Davie participated in a project at the Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc., supported by the Huizenga Family, providing the equivalent of $1,000 to feed and clothe homeless families.
Dr. Maria Petrescu, former marketing doctoral student and currently an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Nova Southeastern University, under the mentorship of Dr. Pradeep Korgaonkar, Professor of Marketing, has published a book titled Viral Marketing and Social Networks.
A research project from a team of Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University researchers was selected among the winners of the Nova Southeastern University’s President’s Faculty Research and Development Grant competition. The research project focuses on the circumstances and antecedents of consumers' motivations for Internet piracy and includes as co-authors Dr. Maria Petrescu and Dr. John Gironda from NSU (and former PhD students at FAU), Dr. Pradeep Korgaonkar from FAU, and MBA student Isabela Dominici from NSU.
