Executive Master of Accounting (EMAC)

The Executive Master of Accounting (EMAC) lays the educational foundation for professional and career goals. The degree program is offered by the Office of Executive Education, a department in Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited College of Business.

Through a synchronous and asynchronous (Hybrid) format, the program offers an exceptional educational experience with five concentrations to suit diverse career aspirations. It is designed to prepare graduates for careers in private and public accounting, and government agencies.

The objective of the EMAC program is to graduate students with a Master of Accounting degree after mastering all the components of a graduate-level accounting curriculum. The courses of the EMAC program may be used to satisfy the education requirements of the CPA and other professional licenses.

Program Start Dates

  • Spring semester begins January 13, 2024
  • Summer semester begins May 11, 2024
  • Fall semester begins August 24, 2024

Graduates from this program are well positioned to pursue a wide variety of job opportunities in both the private and public sectors of the accounting profession. These opportunities include working in public accounting firms, corporations, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and any type of business that requires accounting services.

Courses are designed to provide flexibility and convenience for students, and one of the key features that facilitate this is asynchronous learning, where students have the freedom to log in and access the course materials at a time that best suits their schedule. As a professional juggling multiple commitments, you can engage with your course content and participate in discussions, without being tied to specific class times or physical locations.

The program accommodates students with non-accounting undergraduate degrees, by offering the flexibility to complete the curriculum with an additional 2-5 courses, depending on the chosen concentration. These additional courses are integrated into the program schedule, eliminating the need for prerequisite courses outside of the program. Depending on career trajectory and areas of interest, students can choose from various concentrations for focused expertise in a specialized accounting area:

The program allows a dual concentration between Forensic Accounting & Digital Accounting Forensics and Data Analytics by completing 2 - 3 additional courses. The dual concentration can be selected before or during the program.

Employers recognize the quality of FAU graduates, leading to excellent job placement opportunities. Choosing FAU means you'll be earning your degree from a prestigious University College of Business which holds an AACSB accreditation. This recognition signifies the highest quality of education and faculty expertise. FAU’s Executive Education also offers additional resources such as career services, networking events, and mentorship programs to support students' professional development and secure a desirable position in the field of accounting.
