International Business Advisory Board

Florida Atlantic's International Business Program, ranked No. 22 by U.S. News & World Report, held its first "Meet the IB Board" event. Attracting over 100 eager students and 11 prominent international business executives, currently serving on the program’s advisory board, this first-time event marked a significant milestone for the students and our industry leaders.

The collaborative event was organized by the student Global Business Association club, the Executive Education team, and Management Department faculty members David Herst, Ph.D., and Joseph Patton, DBA. Held at the Schmidt Family Center Executive Education facilities and focused on the theme of “Starting a Career in International Business," the industry expert panel and attendees participated in a dynamic Q&A session. Topics ranged from global market trends to effective networking strategies.

"Board members gave their best advice to students on starting a career in international business, then took rapid fire questions from the students for more than an hour," said Patton.

Following the interactive discussion, attendees transitioned to an hour-long networking session, making meaningful connections, and paving the way for potential mentorship opportunities. Several students were even extended internship offers on the spot, highlighting the impact of the experience on career development.
