
Master of Health Administration - Traditional
The Master of Health Administration (MHA) trains future administrators to follow a productive and rewarding career in the healthcare industry. Highly regulated, healthcare continuously changes and makes a difference in people’s lives like no other profession. Future health administrators from this program will learn how to be adept at interpreting regulations to continually changing events and circumstances within this booming industry.
Courses are offered on our main campus in Boca Raton. The MHA degree is fully accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Program Information
- Designed for recent graduates and working professionals seeking careers in healthcare management
- Full-time and part-time enrollment options available
- Degree Requirements:
- 30 hours minimum (students with significant professional health administration experience)
- 31 hours minimum (all other students)
- Foundation courses in accounting and/or leadership may be required for students without an undergraduate business background
- Internship (HSA 6855) required of most students; may be waived for students who have held significant management positions (hire/fire authority and budget responsibility) in healthcare organizations for two or more years
- Location: Boca Raton campus
- Delivery Format: In-person courses offered during the daytime on the Boca Raton campus

Scholarships
Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business offers merit-based tuition awards through the Provost Fellowship to two outstanding incoming MHA candidates (deadline: May 1 each year). The South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum (SFHEF), Inc. Board of Directors has also established funding for two health management scholarships.

Certificate in Health Administration
Current FAU graduate students can earn a Certificate in Health Administration by taking four courses listed here.
Students should contact a graduate academic advisor for assistance. *Note: if a student chooses the Certificate option, the courses used to earn the Certificate cannot later be counted toward a Master of Health Administration degree.
