College of Business Scholarships

Established by retired FAU professor Dr. Alvin Katz and his wife Lenore. Awarded to College of Business students who demonstrate excellent academic achievement and financial need.

Established in 1972 for Broward Community College transfer students enrolled in FAU’s College of Business. Awarded for two years at $500 per semester (not to exceed two semesters per year). Student must maintain eligibility and COB enrollment. Broward Community College unofficial transcript required upon applying.

Established by Robert and Diane Bok, both 1980 graduates of FAU. Awarded to students with financial need in the College of Business who demonstrate high academic performance and who are not being considered for any other scholarships.

Compiled from funds contributed by numerous donors who support the College of Business. Supports student success and experiential learning within the college. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Review committee also considers personal statement, community service, extracurricular activities, and resume.

A collection of scholarships with a common application whose funds are distributed by the FAU Foundation. Includes the Virginia & Douglas Stewart Scholarship, the Haychel Gomez Melli & Patrick Melli Scholarship, and the Bernard Kozel & Molly Foreman Kozel Endowed Scholarship.

Note: Application open and close dates are set by the FAU Office of Financial Aid.

Funded from dollars raised at the FAU Business Leader of the Year annual event to provide financial assistance to College of Business students. Minimum 3.25 GPA and demonstrated leadership through service required.

Recipients are selected in the semester prior to disbursement (typically fall, awarded in spring). Recipients must be registered in the upcoming semester, attend a thank-you video recording, and attend the FAU Business Leader of the Year event to receive the scholarship.

Awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Business at FAU. Recipient must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and must demonstrate leadership qualities through service.

Established in 1991 to support students in the College of Business. Renewable for one year, meaning it will be awarded again the following fall, pending the recipient meets the same criteria and remains enrolled as a COB student. Student must demonstrate financial need and have a 3.0 GPA. Students must show worthiness via resume, community service, and/or extracurricular activities.

Awarded to a full-time student who has excelled in Finance, Accounting, or Estate Planning.

Established in 2004 to support students in the College of Business. Awarded to a full-time student (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) with verifiable financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Established in 2000 by Stanley Brown and friends, in memory and honor of Dr. Juanita Brown, a professor of marketing. Awarded to degree-seeking students in the College of Business who have a minimum 3.25 GPA.

Established by Mary Ann and Richard Cook to provide educational study abroad opportunities to students in the College of Business. Stipend funds are intended to cover tuition, fees, travel, lodging, food, and other per-diem expenses related to an upcoming study abroad trip.

Applicants must be an undergraduate College of Business student attending the upcoming study abroad trip with a minimum 2.75 GPA.

Awarded to College of Business students who have a minimum 3.8 GPA. Review committee also considers personal statement, community service, extracurricular activities, and resume.

Established by Mrs. Charles Rose in memory of her husband. Awarded to outstanding students in the College of Business who have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Established in 2024 by U.S. Navy veteran and 1989 COB graduate David W. Matte. Intended to provide financial assistance to current College of Business students. Recipients must be a full-time undergraduate student (minimum 12 credits) with a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to International Business majors.

Offered to students from donations made by FAU Trustee Shaun M. Davis. Intended to be awarded to disadvantaged College of Business students. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Review committee also considers personal statement, community service, extracurricular activities, and resume.

Intended to support semester-long expenses such as in-state tuition and textbooks for deserving full-time undergraduate students each fall and spring semester.

Applicants must share why they should receive the award, how a scholarship would assist them in completing their degree, and their aspirations upon graduating. They must also showcase community service and extracurricular activities.

Awarded to students studying International Business with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to students with verifiable financial need and an interest in Turkish studies. Recipient must be a graduate of an American or Turkish high school, fluent in English, and supply three letters of recommendation.

Established in 1987 by Mrs. B.B. Pollier in honor and memory of her son William, a former FAU staff member. Awarded to an outstanding graduating senior enrolled in the College of Business who will continue as a full-time student in a master’s program. Proof of acceptance to an FAU master’s degree program is required.

Established in 1984 to provide scholarships to students in the College of Business who are interested in real estate. Student must have declared either a major or minor in Real Estate to be considered.

Established in 1984 in memory of Mrs. Newman by her husband C. Harrison Newman and their children. Provides scholarships to full-time students (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) who have financial need. Intended for 5th-year students within the FAU School of Accounting (graduate level students or undergraduates seeking a 2nd major in accounting).

Established in 2005 to support students in the College of Business interested in accounting. Awarded to a full-time student (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) majoring in accounting with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be a member of the Accounting Students Association (ASA); preference given to ASA Officers.

Established in 2020 to support students in the College of Business interested in accounting. Awarded to a full-time student (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) with a minimum 3.25 GPA and unmet financial need as determined by the FAU Office of Student Financial Aid. Student must have successfully completed ACG 3131 with a grade of B or better.

Established in 2018 to provide support for undergraduate accounting students in the College of Business. Awarded to an accounting student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applies to good-standing Accounting Scholars Program (ASP) undergraduate students who attended the current semester SOA Accounting Kickoff recruiting event as a volunteer or participant. Student must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA, be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) or be in their final semester of degree, and must have successfully completed at least two accounting/tax honors compacts.

Attendance at the SOA Accounting Kickoff recruiting event will be validated before the scholarship is awarded.

Applies to students who attended the current semester SOA Accounting Kickoff recruiting event as a student participant. Student must have a minimum 3.25 overall GPA, be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) or be in their final semester of degree, and must have successfully completed ACG 3131.

Attendance at the SOA Accounting Kickoff recruiting event will be validated before the scholarship is awarded.

Awarded to accounting students who are juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Student must have financial need.

Administered by the Dean of the College of Business. Recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student in the College of Business School of Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students should also exhibit professionalism and contribute to the overall College of Business and School of Accounting through participation in student activities, clubs, and/or organizations.

Established by Hilda Krinzman. Awarded to full-time students who have completed a course in Business Law, Advanced Business Law, or a course studying the ethical environment of business. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, have completed BUL 4442 (Ethical Environment of Business Law) or equivalent, and demonstrate community service.

Established from the estate of the Steindels in 2000. Awarded to full-time students with demonstrated financial need. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, show community service, and have completed BUL 4442 (Ethical Environment of Business Law) or equivalent.

Established by the estate of Mildred A. Becker to help a full-time student in the College of Business. Recipient must be a U.S. citizen, show financial need, and have high academic standards. Applicants must have completed the three-credit Business Law course (BUL 4421) or equivalent and be involved in community service.

Established in 2000 by the Virginia and Douglas Stewart Trust. Awarded to full-time College of Business students with demonstrated financial need. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate community service, and have completed BUL 4442 (Ethical Environment of Business Law) or equivalent.

Established by friends in honor of “Hank” Watson. Awarded to full-time students enrolled in the College of Business. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be a Broward County resident, demonstrate financial need, have completed BUL 4442 (Ethical Environment of Business Law) or equivalent, and demonstrate community service.

Established in 2006 to provide scholarships to students studying in the areas of finance, insurance, and economics. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

Awarded annually to a student whose academic record and outlook suggest a successful career in economics. Recipient must be in their junior or senior year with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and a 3.25 GPA in economics coursework at FAU, and must be pursuing an economics major.

Applicants must submit a one-page essay (no more than 500 words) on the following prompt: Choose one or more economic concepts and describe how you have applied them in your day-to-day life.

Created in 1986 to honor faculty members Aileen D. Maale, Willy J. Feuerlein, and Milton B. Redman. Awarded to exceptional students studying economic principles with a minimum 3.4 GPA who have completed at least 40 upper-division credits (senior or graduate student).

Intended to support students in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University. Preference is given to those with a major/minor combination in the Finance and Hospitality & Tourism Management programs.

Created in 2022 to provide scholarships to business students with an interest in real estate.

Established in 2006 by Minto Communities, Inc. to provide education opportunities to undergraduate students at Florida Atlantic University. The College of Business awards one scholarship each fall semester to a student with a real estate interest. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a Florida resident, and have unmet financial need as determined by the FAU Office of Student Financial Aid.

Established in 2012 in memory of Dr. Robert Hays, former Director of the Health Administration Program. Awarded to full-time students (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate) majoring in Health Administration. The selected student must be working part- or full-time (minimum 10 hours per week) while pursuing their degree and must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Awarded to a student who is a Health Administration major with a minimum 3.0 GPA and is involved in extracurricular activities.

Established in 1995 to support students majoring in Health Administration in meeting the costs of higher education. Awarded to a student majoring in Health Administration with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Established in 2012 to provide educational opportunities to students in the College of Business. Student must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA, be an undergraduate student with a major in Operations Management or be part of the accelerated BA/MSSCM degree, and must show an emphasis on Supply Chain Management.

Student must have completed or be currently enrolled in MAN 4597 and must have unmet financial need as determined by the FAU Office of Student Financial Aid.

Established in 1995 to support students in the College of Business interested in entrepreneurship. Awarded to a student with a minimum 3.0 GPA and an emphasis in entrepreneurial studies. Involvement in extracurricular activities will be considered.

Awarded to an undergraduate management student who is a first-generation college student and has demonstrated an interest in business and entrepreneurship. Applicants must submit a one-page essay describing how this scholarship will allow them to further their own innovations and entrepreneurial skills.

Established in 2006 by Minto Communities, Inc. to provide education opportunities to undergraduate students at Florida Atlantic University. The College of Business awards one scholarship each fall semester to a student enrolled in marketing. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a Florida resident, and have unmet financial need as determined by the FAU Office of Student Financial Aid.

Awarded to marketing students who have a minimum 3.25 GPA and demonstrate leadership qualities through service. Recipients are also expected to demonstrate excellence in attendance and provide a letter of recommendation from FAU faculty indicating excellent class attendance.

A competitive award conferred annually to one or two business PhD students. Intended to encourage effective education and recognize excellence in teaching. Business PhD students who are teaching in their third or fourth year and have not begun their job search are eligible.

Students must provide: mean SPOT score for question 6 less than 2.5, peer review of teaching completed by a 2nd-year student, faculty review of teaching (if available), innovative instructional resources, and a nomination letter from the department chair/director. Minimum 3.0 program GPA. Review committee also considers personal statement, research, service, and CV.

The Accounting Doctoral Alumni Endowed Fellowship, awarded to a College of Business Traditional PhD student in Accounting. Minimum 3.0 program GPA. Review committee considers personal statement, research, service, and CV.

Awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Business as a Traditional PhD student in Accounting. The scholarship supports the student’s scholarly research, including costs related to primary data collection, secondary data acquisition, travel, and other research-related expenses. Preference given to students engaged in experimental research and student dissertations.

Recipient must have completed at least one year of the PhD Accounting Program and be making satisfactory progress as determined by the School of Accounting. Minimum 3.0 program GPA. Review committee also considers personal statement, research, service, and CV.

The COB PhD Alumni Scholarship, awarded to a College of Business Traditional PhD student concentrating in Finance, ITOM, Management, or Marketing. Accounting concentrations are not eligible. Minimum 3.0 program GPA. Review committee considers personal statement, research, service, and CV.

Created in memory of the mother of Ronald F. Premuroso, PhD., CPA., who passed away at a young age from cancer. Intended to support Traditional PhD candidates in the School of Accounting for scholarly research and academic conference attendance. Minimum 3.0 program GPA.
