ECO 3101 Intermediate Microeconomics

Intermediate microeconomics examines how individuals make decisions in a world of scarce resources in a more analytical framework than in economic principles.

This course examines many topics such as:

  • Consumer and producer responses to price changes
  • Firm production and profit conditions
  • Effects of market structure on consumer, producer, and social welfare
  • Static and dynamic equilibrium analyses

Prerequisites: ECO 2013 & ECO 2023.

 

 

ECP 3703 Managerial Economics

Managerial economics examines the managerial decision-making process within firms from an economic perspective.
This course covers topics such as:
  • Management and business strategies
  • Risk analysis
  • Demand estimation and pricing
  • Forecasting
  • Competitive behavior and profit maximization

Prerequisites: ECO 2013 & ECO 2023, or equivalent. This course counts towards the economics requirement for both Management and Finance Majors.

 

 

ECO 3203 Intermediate Macroeconomics

Intermediate Macroeconomics explores issues like inflation, unemployment, trade & budget deficits and recessions, this course develops models of macroeconomic fluctuation to address the role of fiscal and monetary policy.
This course will address many macroeconomic questions such as:
  • What mechanisms can cause a domestic currency to strengthen?
  • Why has the US dollar strengthened recently and why might a stronger dollar result in financial crisis?
  • What role does inflation and interest rates play in determining financial well-being?

Prerequisites: ECO 2013 & ECO 2023, or equivalent. This course counts towards the economics requirement for both Management and Finance Majors.
