Run for School Safety 5K
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting hit home for all of us. Individuals in South Florida and all across the United States were traumatized by the terrorizing act of hatred that took place on Valentine’s Day 2018. The Executive Education family was especially impacted, because one of the MSD fatalities was the child of one of our students. Action is the only method to assist in preventing events such as this one. Florida Atlantic University wants to do something to help directly combat the common struggles that take place in our school systems.

To kick off this movement, we will be hosting a charity event- Run for School Safety 5K. This event, organized by the FAU College of Business, promotes all areas of school safety including preventing gun violence and bullying, while promoting social media responsibility and general security. This event will include guest speakers, awareness, and direct resources to ensure that situations like this seize to happen.
Proceeds from the event will go to organizations that support changing these aspects in the school system such as creating support groups in local schools, funding school security measures, and providing schools materials to aid in their own security efforts.
