The FAU campus in Boca Raton boasts an expansive 850-acre facility, about three miles from the Atlantic Ocean, between Palm Beach in the north and Miami to the south. Additional campuses are located in Davie and Palm Beach Gardens. More than 30,000 full-time and part-time students enjoy the subtropical setting while enrolled in a broad array of outstanding undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. The University is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and individual programs are accredited by the appropriate accrediting bodies in the various disciplines. The College of Business programs are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
The College of Business offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology and Operations Management, Management, and Marketing (collectively referred to as the specialized concentrations), and an Executive concentration. Required courses consist of tool courses (such as statistics and econometrics), doctoral research seminars based on the student's concentration, and a dissertation course.
Traditional Ph.D.
Specialized concentrations in accounting, finance, management / entrepreneurship, information technology and operations management form the traditional Ph.D. program and prepare students for university teaching and research. Students entering the doctoral program and pursuing a specialized concentration typically have a master's in a Business Administration program and require about four years to complete the requirements for the Ph.D. in Business Administration. Students accepted in the program are expected to enroll on a full-time basis. Follow the below link for additional information on the traditional Ph.D.
