Master's in Economics
The Department of Economics offers a comprehensive Master of Science in Economics degree program. Students may choose one of the following tracks:
- General Economics
- Econometrics and Data Analytics
- Financial Economics
- International Economics
The General Economics track provides maximum flexibility in course selection, while the other three concentrations allow students to focus in an area of specialty.
The Master's in Economics program is designed for full-time students. Most classes
are currently offered in the evening with a remote (online) attendance option. However,
beginning Fall 2025, most classes will be held during the day with students attending
in person.
One can complete the Master of Science in Economics degree in as little as 12 months
with a full-time course load. Alternatively, one may spread the coursework over a
longer period. We also offer a combined undergraduate/master’s program for qualified FAU undergraduate students, which allows students to count up to three
graduate economics courses toward both the bachelor’s and master’s degree requirements.
Florida Atlantic University is a dynamic and growing institution, and the Department of Economics is no exception. With 14 full-time faculty with Ph.D.’s from leading institutions, we offer small class sizes and a friendly academic environment within which to study and learn. Our goal is to prepare students for advancement in their current career or to pursue new career opportunities. Recent graduates have taken positions in major corporations, multinational consulting firms, the financial industry, and in the public sector.
