Graduate Business Communications Program

The Business Communications Program supports College of Business degree programs by helping them achieve an important goal: students will communicate effectively in their disciplines. It does not confer a communications degree but prepares students to (1) submit quality speaking and writing assignments in subsequent graduate courses and (2) move up in their careers by increasing their abilities to think critically, problem solve, and gain acceptance for their ideas through well-considered oral and written presentations.

"Communication is the most important skill any leader can possess."

- Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, made up of more than 400 companies.

The Business Communications Program supports the following graduate programs in the traditional curriculum:

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Accounting
  • Master of Taxation
  • Master of Health Administration
  • Master of Science in Information Technology and Management
  • Master of Science in Supply Chain Management
  • Master of Science in Business Analytics
  • Master of Science in International Business

Students who have been admitted to one of the above programs will be required to take GEB 6215: Graduate Business Communication Applications. Students will attend skill enhancement sessions (written, interpersonal, and presentational communication skills) and will demonstrate their mastery of these skills by attaining certification of papers and a presentation in subsequent core courses that integrate with GEB 6215.
